Some products that come to market are genuinely appreciated, while others are confusing.

That’s completely illegal.
You see quite a few counterfeits on Mercari and Yahoo Auctions.
Since they’re imitating current-model OEM parts, I can’t tell what’s what with products outside my area of interest. It’s risky, really risky.
I picked up something labeled as an Akrapovic type once, and it was actually pretty well made.
With such a rich lineup available these days, telling them apart would be even harder.

Consumers are selfish, and there are issues with batch sizes and storage space, so it’s not easy.
But if producers limited runs or quantities and took pre-orders, I think both makers and consumers could have a better relationship.
