The other day, the iPhone 13 series went on sale.
Since I don’t use my smartphone that much, smaller and lighter is more convenient for carrying around and using!
But to put it bluntly, all I really need is phone calls, email, SMS, and light apps. I was torn between sticking with the 7 or trying out the latest iPhone 13 Mini.
My iPhone 7 has been performing terribly lately.
Whenever I try to open a shop card or something, it just spins and spins with a long wait…
With my low usage, the battery drains incredibly fast.
It’s not like there’s a real problem with daily use, but I thought maybe life would be more fun with something new, small, snappy, and with a great camera? That’s what got me quietly researching the iPhone 13.
I think the key thing to watch out for when buying is figuring out what you actually need.
Price and performance usually climb together like stairs, going up step by step.
I started planning to stop at the first step, but before I knew it, I’d climbed all the way to the top comparing the small improvements… Haven’t you had that experience?
You know, suddenly you’ve got racing master calipers, racing brake calipers, and mag wheels.
Anyway, back to the iPhone.
The snappiness is obviously going to be good, so it really comes down to camera performance…
When I patrol YouTube, comparison videos are everywhere.
Night performance, image stabilization, processing—all kinds of things.
The specs on this phone are unbelievably advanced, and the iPhone 13 series seemed incredibly appealing…
But to be honest, the smartphone camera is genuinely amazing.
It doesn’t come close to a mirrorless camera, but it’s in the ballpark of a high-end compact camera.
It’s like a high-end multi-tool knife—each individual feature doesn’t match a dedicated tool, but conversely, I realized that’s because they’re targeting different goals.
After all that iPhone research, I got the urge to upgrade, so I switched to the iPhone SE2 that’s being dumped on the market right now.
Starting in October, SIM lock restrictions were lifted, making phone upgrades even easier.
Changes I noticed after switching:
• Battery life is unbelievably good (compared to my old phone?)
• Internet connects super fast
• It still has the home button, the last in the iPhone series, and it unlocks easily even with a mask on.
• The case is the same as my iPhone 7 (I use a Quad Lock)
• It supports Qi charging (that’s a nice bonus)
Overall, there’s not much room for growth, but the positive changes have been good.
