I just thought about it: “Today’s photo can’t be taken tomorrow.” And nothing more than that.
I initially bought one with the idea that a DSLR would take beautiful photos.
But the reality turned out to be completely different from what I imagined.
Since I’d only ever used compact cameras, I was totally lost.
I didn’t know about sensor sizes or focal length conversion, and I honestly went through many cycles of buying and selling lenses.
I tried lenses ranging from 8mm on the low end to 300mm on the high end.
In the end, I settled on my “preferred distance” and “shooting environment.”
I barely use zoom lenses anymore—just 50mm and 90mm. I’ve given up on going all-in for the perfect shot. “After all, steady wins the race.”
Modern mirrorless cameras take really great photos.
Even someone like me uses them about as casually as a compact camera, and honestly, you need that kind of ease to use one while working.
They’re really lightweight, and you can just snap away without worrying about low light. Lately, noise is barely noticeable.
Smartphone cameras have improved too, but mirrorless cameras offer something different and are really nice. I’ve moved on from Nikon and become a Sony person.
I’m currently using the Sony α7C.
