Back then, I was heading out on my bike at night on the Tomei Expressway to visit the hamburger master in Mishima.
As you head west on the Tomei Expressway, it gradually starts to feel pretty desolate, doesn’t it? (‘;’)
The streetlights gradually thin out, traffic decreases, and the surroundings are filled with large trucks, buses, or cars speeding along.
As I was cruising along in a daze…
There was a trailer running in the passing lane.
Well, I didn’t really think much of it and just kept driving in the center lane, cruising along a bit behind the trailer at a steady pace.
As we continued running parallel like that for quite a while, at some point the trailer started weaving slightly.
And it kept weaving more and more. It kept weaving and weaving and weaving…
Since something that long was weaving around, it was genuinely scary. I got pretty spooked and slowed down in the far left lane.
The next instant! BOOM! Screeeeeech!
The trailer’s tire burst, and it blocked all the lanes from the passing lane to the left lane. This is a true story.
Whoa… (゚Д゚) That was close! If I’d been alongside it, I’d have been done for, you know?
And I couldn’t afford to stop and panic here either.
This is bad—it’s definitely going to cause a pile-up! Maybe? I had to get out of there fast!
I somehow managed to squeeze through a gap on the shoulder and barely passed the trailer, getting safely ahead.
I don’t know what happened after that. Scary stuff! (*´▽`*)
