Lately things have been getting pretty oily around here too.

Our shop hasn’t been taking on new customers yet,
but we’re settling into our new location in Chiba and adjusting our operations smoothly.
I want to think things through a bit more before gradually rebuilding our new customer slots and service menu structure.

Before the handlebar swap? We’re switching to Bridgestone S23 tires.

Lately manufacturers have been firmly displaying their suggested retail prices.
Still, I can’t help but think tire prices just keep going up and up.

Front about 4.3kg, rear 6.4kg.
Tire weight varies slightly depending on the manufacturer brand.

Ah! If you keep the tire weight numbers in your head—”it got lighter! it got heavier!”—
the experience of swapping in new tires becomes much richer.

Front is Gale Speed, rear is OEM JB per the owner’s request.
Color is silver (*´ω｀*)

We apply fluorine grease HP500 to the O-rings.
Fluorine has minimal impact on rubber and keeps things nicely lubricated for the long haul.

A Plexus-like effect you can spray on? Hyper Resin is the winner

Plexus disappeared years ago.
I’ve tried all sorts of chemicals… but haven’t quite reached the finish line.

However, I’ve finally found a chemical that seems to work for now.
HYPER RESIN
I’ve already gone through 3 or 4 bottles and keep buying it.
It’s simple to use—just give it a light spray and wipe. It delivers amazing shine and water repellency.
Start with the set
and next time go with the refill (which is larger) and attach the spray nozzle—that’s the best approach .

We polish the inside of the wheel thoroughly too (*´ω｀*)
The owner can’t polish the inside themselves.

When they take it off next time, we want them to think “wow!”

It really shines brilliantly and doesn’t pick up dirt easily.

Wheel balance is better with less weight

Checking the wheel’s heavy point first makes it easier to achieve zero balance.
*When the tire’s light point is already aligned

OEM wheels absolutely need checking.
Honestly, if you align the tire’s light point with the air valve, some bikes have an unbelievable amount of weight stacked on them.
The logic is simple “Cancel out the heavy wheel spot with the tire’s light spot”
If this becomes “heavy and heavy” you need way more weight.

This alone doesn’t create a huge performance difference
but I think bikes improve and get lighter through the accumulation of small details.
