So I went ahead and cut and relocated the existing one, and relocation prep is complete.

I got the mounting boss from an unused chin cover.
I went ahead and changed the fluid.
Before putting the fairing back on, I checked each part for leaks and…
I’m not sure if that was good or bad… I drained the gas from the float and tried a quick fix, but there was no change…
I removed it… Sometimes the long way around is the right way.
It looks like there are signs of corrosion and chronic rust.
It had turned a rather unpleasant color.
I could sense the liquid gasket, and I found myself wondering what happened in the past…
I cleaned up just the float chamber. I’ll wait for the gasket to arrive and then decide what to do… To be continued.
