The XV950 BOLT is a bike you don’t see very often on the street. The love for the Bolt just won’t stop… that’s right.
Or rather… do that many optional parts really exist?
Yamaha has left us somewhat astonished.
We replaced the headlight rim with a black one.
Matte finish is scary… scratches show up easily, so be careful.
The color is exquisite and looks cool… but wait, didn’t you notice something odd?
Hmm, this step faces the same direction…
Turns out that’s fine. (It operates smoothly with no issues.)
Since the owner is super particular about cleanliness… scratches aren’t allowed, but the mounting bracket is a clamp.
The position is basically up to you, which means adjustment causes scratches.
There was some Dinoc sheet left over (that was trendy back in the day). We’ll cover the scratches with a carbon fiber pattern.
Up, down, front, back…
To avoid putting too much stress on the cowl during installation, we end up removing and reattaching it many times.
The included bolts with their oddly short neck weren’t used. They’re silver and button head too (though I just don’t like button heads).
No cutting or gluing needed—we’re done!
