But I’ve been thinking, why not use an inexpensive one dedicated to striking?

It’s like a beefed-up wheel bearing remover?
The high-end Hasco version naturally doesn’t get struck…
This kind of pragmatic approach might work too. What do you think?

In my opinion, this remover isn’t that useful. Honestly, it’s so-so.
Since there’s no catch, the tool itself slips out, so you have to repeat the process over and over.
It takes a bit more effort to screw it in, but with the toolsisland Pilot Bearing Puller Set F1 Internal Jaw 8–25 mm you can do wheel bearings in one shot! Needle rollers in one shot! I think.
Oh, one more thing.
Avoid striking the bearing puller tower directly.
Direct contact means… naturally
the other part gets dented or scratched more easily.
If you’re already being careful with your bearing puller, one more step could really boost the quality.
Always lay down a wide metal plate and strike the tower against that. That’s the better way.
