GSX-R1100N Decoboco Oil-Cooled Handlebar Switch, Throttle Wire, and Spark Plug Replacement

I wonder how many handlebar switches this bike needs before it’s satisfied… or is it just rare to see someone go through this many failures? With this switch replacement, we’re finally done and complete.

Since we’re at it, let me do some promotion too…
Suzuki OEM Right Handlebar Switch
Headlight ON/P/OFF, starter button, kill switch, and brake switch wiring configuration.
Compatible with oil-cooled GSX-R750 and 1100 (all model years). Some models require throttle wire replacement.
Price: ¥13,650 (before tax)

Since the carburettor is a TM or RS model, we’re replacing the throttle wire at the same time. Throttle wire length is actually pretty important.
Even when turning the handlebar left and right, it shouldn’t kink, should open smoothly and return firmly, and shouldn’t interfere with steering—there’s no benefit to making it too long.

It happens sometimes, but “DIY work, too much hassle, so let’s go 10 cm longer”
with a 10 cm = 100 mm layout that’s hard to avoid becomes an absurdly long length.
The same goes for brake hoses and other things, so aftermarket parts replacement isn’t always as simple as it seems.

Failed purchase → buy again multiple times → money circulates = very wonderful? I guess that’s one way to think about it.

This time we used one from a GSX1100SR/Y.
So how do you choose? In our case, we keep a bunch of junk throttle wires around, so we pick by actually installing them and testing. (Can’t go wrong that way!)
Suzuki OEM Left Handlebar Switch

Hazard function added, push-cancel turn signal, high/low beam, pass, and horn configuration.
Available with or without choke lever.
Clutch switch presence/absence and digital power (optional power) can also be added—just let us know.
Compatible with oil-cooled GSX-R750 and 1100 (all model years). Requires IC turn signal relay.
Price: ¥19,000 (before tax)

We haven’t confirmed all 1200-series models yet, so we’re waiting for work requests.
The spark plugs are all nice and black. That’s something we’d like to address…
Tomorrow we’ll install the turn signal relay and we’re done.

We’ve also installed the duct, so rest assured.
That wraps up this job.
