Ah~ steady progress. I think the planning stage is the most fun part?
The rear caliper support is rigid. Light and simple.
Since it’s a simple shape, I quickly machined the 7N01 aluminum and got it like this.
This was too long, so I cut 5mm off each side afterward.
Recovery work like this is important, isn’t it?
So I welded it like that.
Hmm~ I think it’s looking pretty good.
The F1 disk is M6 with 6 holes. There’s no mounting seat on the disk side, so the nut sticks out. I need to clear the caliper support. This original support is thin with ribs holding it together, so I have to be careful not to overdo it.
There we go~ I’ll finish it with roughing and call it good.
*Normally the nut would be on the outside, but the dimensions are close, so… just checking.
Hmm~ tight fit. It cleared fine and installed fine, so that worked out.
While I’m at it… I’ll weld on the racing stand receiver.
It shouldn’t come off or break, but ideally I’d like it to contact the swingarm over a surface area.
Since it looks decent, let’s call it good.
I think it’s turned out pretty nice.
I prefer the original chain slider, so I’m planning to reuse this one.
*The one for this swingarm is already discontinued… sad~
