I purchased a rebuilt engine on eBay.
With the packing material, it weighed about 120 kilograms. I thought something this heavy would come by ship, but it came by air freight.
I purchased it on 11/13, and it cleared customs and arrived at the shop on 11/27. It was so fast it was almost inconvenient.
It’s sparkling! A clean exterior is scary. I sourced it with that nervous feeling.
I opened the head cover and checked the cranking first. Even though it’s a rebuilt engine, I decided it was safer to check the valve timing and tappets just to be sure.
By the way, this is the “EE case” from a Z1000ST. It seems to have been used gently and mildly, which gives me some peace of mind.
Air-cooled engines really are beautiful.
It might seem like I’m only working on my own bike, but I come in an hour early in the morning or skip lunch to work on materials.
Customer vehicles actually take more planning time.
