We had a request for self-point maintenance and dashcam installation.
There’s a budget limit. As we got into it, it turned out to be more work than expected—in the end we kind of “bit off more than we could chew,” but we had to push through. The bike frame required no modifications whatsoever. Here’s the front camera bracket, already finished.
We used the screen mounting boss with two well nuts. We placed a rubber boss on the back of the camera and pressed it against the fairing.
Of course, we made it adjustable in the up-and-down direction. It’s registered with the Balling Association.
We applied electrical tape so the rubber wouldn’t rub and peel the paint.
The rear is out of sight, so we used SS400 steel—solid spot-welded mounting.
Since it’s steel, we painted it black for rust protection.
This one is also adjustable up and down.
The switch and GPS are already double-sided. We’ve connected the relay, so now it’s just a matter of routing the wiring and the dashcam is done.
