With limited time and budget, I want to take a slow and mellow approach to the finish.
As a concept, I want to focus on stepping outside the standard while keeping it lightweight, simple, and reliable.
• Won’t use CP2696/2195
• Won’t use 36/37/43mm diameter forks
• Won’t use Campagnolo/Dymag/Morris
• Will avoid bolt-on parts as much as possible
• Won’t build an AMA replica
First, given the budget constraints, I decided to go in the direction of stepping outside the standard. It’s not that I don’t want to use certain parts, but more that the budget doesn’t allow it.
• Get the dry weight under 200 kilograms
• Keep the appearance simple but unmistakably KZ to anyone who sees it
• 100 horsepower, 200 km/h capable, reliable engine that won’t break
• Avoid polishing too much—aim for an aged appearance
That’s the general idea. Since I won’t be able to update very often, I’m hoping to update on auspicious days each time.
