I’d like to move forward with the Z1000A.
It shows no sign of coming out at all. I have a really bad feeling about this.
After thirty minutes of rotating and applying lubricant repeatedly
It finally came out. I’m amazed every time by the power of corrosion.
It looks a bit dusty. I’ll clean it up.
This is the condition.
Since I made a tool to remove the bearing, the work proceeds smoothly.
When I check the inner diameter, it’s about 1mm loose, so I’ll add a shim. It might not put too much stress on the frame, which could be good.
While I had it off, I switched to a lock nut.
I’ll clean it up nicely anyway.
Since fluid is leaking, I’ll replace it with a Brembo OEM unit instead of doing an overhaul.
I happened to find an incomplete ground, so I stripped it.
After roughing it up, I’ll do the final work. The plate has a good thickness but has storage marks. I’ll polish those out later.
If I install a helicoil on the master side, it’ll be nut-free.
I’ll do a trial assembly and continue tomorrow.
