We’re moving into the final finishing touches. The last part always takes the most time.
License plate light cover. Since it’s a plastic part, there’s a compatibility issue with the main body. We’ll give it a gentle push from the back.
We’re going to proceed in a way that doesn’t require too much work.
First, we welded a round rod and a punched circular plate together.
Then we punched out the sponge with a gasket punch.
We attached it and apply physical soft pressure.
That cleaned things up nicely.
For the brake lever, the owner wanted the left and right to match, so we painted it black.
We cut, punched, and bent stainless steel sheet, then welded on fastener mounts.
We also threaded the engine-side bolt and made a simple vibration-damping bracket.
Now the fairing won’t vibrate, which is great.
We finished the test ride and the work is complete. It’s nimble and accelerates well.
That VM carburetor still has plenty of life in it—I was impressed.
