The inner tube is scheduled for re-plating, so I’ll have it sit in the back.
It’s painted all the way to the clamping area with a nice finish. I’ll peel it off later.
The front fork seems to have been dropped, and the edge is slightly peeling up. I’ll check the rust condition and consider whether to re-plate or replace with a reproduction part.
It’s better not to use cap bolts on the inside of the steel fender.
For thin-fork bikes from this era, it’s safer to fix the fender after deciding on the axle shaft. Since we tighten the outer circumference after the fork sits well, I’ll replace it.

The snap rings from this era fit so snugly that they might be a bit difficult to remove. Over the years, various people have struggled with it, leaving scars.
You can easily remove it with a thin, pointed flathead screwdriver.
The stud bolt is bent. The thread is also looking a bit questionable. Let me remove them all and replace them.

After screwing it in, you tighten the outer circumference firmly, so it’s almost always possible to remove it reliably. It’s a wonderful tool. When working, I always think that you need reliable tools for everything.
