Finally Season 2. A Story of Wanting to Ride the Z1R Smoothly

It’s gradually returning to stock little by little.
Lately, restoring everything to full original condition is really tough.

Back in the day, we’d just throw away stock mufflers and stock carbs without a second thought…
As time goes on, I’m gradually feeling the appeal of the original parts.
So that’s the story about switching back to the stock muffler.

Honestly, I started wondering if I’d lost my mind.

This included bracket just won’t work no matter what I try.
It either sticks out way too much or hits hard…

Hmm, is it reversed? No, reversed? I found myself sitting cross-legged on the ground pondering this…
I’ll just stop using it…

Honestly, I thought just swapping the muffler back to stock would be done in a flash, but my spirit was completely broken.

After 50 years, I don’t know what’s correct anymore.

Boom! Cut out the board and it’s done (*´ω｀*) I haven’t prepared the chamfering cutter yet, so it’s just a belt sander finish…

I originally thought I’d need to bend it a bit,
but the fit was surprisingly fuzzy and it went in on the first try (*´ω｀*) Lucky!

Worst case, I might even shorten the axle shaft a bit next time.

Ohhh! Stock (*´ω｀*)

It produces a really subtle, gentlemanly sound.
Because it’s such a popular model, OEM-type reproductions exist.

Now I can finally get back to carb tuning.
