This is an ETC relocation job and more.
The back side has a somewhat tricky shape. Since we can’t grind it down, we’ll measure the pitch as-is and fabricate a custom plate.
Thirty minutes later… it looks like this.
The shape is pretty straightforward without any special tricks.
I think it’s better to avoid using metal bolts on plastic parts whenever possible.
The USB is built the same way as always.
It’s clamped to the fork, so it’s movable and the head can swivel. This flexible electrical setup is really convenient.
We secure the smartphone adapter. Since we’ve welded a flange lock nut in place, friction adjustment is excellent with just one tool.
The customer wanted a cover when the power connector is removed so it won’t get lost…
I think it’s good manners to make it obvious to anyone looking at it.
For easy attachment and detachment, we quietly fabricated a custom plate.
Hiding things is easy, but balancing that with convenient attachment and detachment is a different level of difficulty.
Now we’ll check the USB power.
It’s good to know the amperage being used too. This USB maxes out at 2.1A, so keep that in mind.
We changed the oil and that wrapped it up.
Maintenance was also requested, but considering the shop situation and the vehicle’s condition, we rescheduled that for another day.
