I always think there must be a better way to secure this hose clamp, but I end up securing it this way anyway.

The preload length is listed, but the set length isn’t, so I’ll measure it just to be sure.
New parts require careful handling. Protection first, protection second—I’m always thinking about how to do the work more easily and quickly.
First, I’ll remove the larger components. I’ll also replace the muffler. While I’m at it, I’ll remove the oil filter and engine damper as well.
The damper was quite bulbous, but I’ll swap it out for the new type.
