Bimota DB1 — I’m thrilled to see the actual bike in person for the first time.
The front form is slimmer than I imagined from the side profile—as narrow as a 400cc bike.
I’m delighted that everything is original, and the wheels and other parts gradually convey a sense of the era and the craftsmanship that went into them.
Each and every detail is carefully crafted, and even after all this time, the design still feels fresh.
Lately, I’ve been getting a bit tired of all the “cutting, cutting, cutting” that’s everywhere.
But when you need to mass-produce something stable, CNC machining is essential, so maybe I’m just wishing for something I can’t have when I think castings are nice too.
A motorcycle is an assembly of parts.
It’s natural that our eyes are drawn to the large components, but the bolts and nuts, the routing of wires, the shape of clamps and brackets, the layout of brake hoses—these fine details accumulate to create a refined beauty.
