Making the breather straight really cleaned things up. Vr2 came up with the idea, so I’ll let you know the M16×1.5 specs later.
As long as it doesn’t spray too much mist, it should be fine…
I have to say… it’s a disappointing finish. The screen and fairing are fixed with bolts and nuts…
Lock nuts would be one thing, but with liquid gasket the washers ended up crooked too… disappointing!
These days, I wouldn’t directly bolt and nut the fairing and screen together like that.
Factory original bikes typically use well nuts to float them or push rivets to secure them.
For plastic and fiber parts, floating with rubber isolators is the way to go—it prevents damage and reduces the chance of parts falling off, so it’s more reliable.
These days I keep different lengths and diameters in stock as a matter of course, like standard supplies.
Wait, that’s all? I thought we were done for the day, but then I repaired some exposed wiring, rerouted the wiring harness, applied foam padding inside the undertray, and touched up paint in various spots.
Now we’re just waiting on the meter. It’s on hold!
