Let’s try routing the breather outlet straight to the right.
The stock version exits on the left, so it’s a 90-degree angle. I wanted to route it toward the rear, but I was bothered by the bulge from the hose bend and L-joint.
I remembered someone mentioning this the other day, so I thought, why not give it a try as a test? and went ahead on my own.
I’m getting used to welding small parts. Making the outlet joint section is a snap.
I forgot it was cast iron… I’m really not good with cast, the slag bubbles up and it’s frustrating.
Since it’s not visible, I didn’t smooth the back side.
I ground down the bead with a rotary tool and gave the edges a cast-like finish.
After making it, I thought: welding a threaded collar and using a fluid coupling or similar would probably be a cleaner finish…
