Nostalgic 16-inch Ninja gradually trending…GPZ900R cooling hose/titanium water pipe kit replacement and more

Working on it day after day.
Since I just started a few days ago, I’m still not very efficient with how things work.
It seems like smooth workflow will take more time.

I’m still complaining about missing this and that.
So let’s continue from yesterday (*´ω`*)

Going to make the water pump into a Nikoichi 49044-1080

Kawasaki really is a parts-sharing paradise as always.
Well, I didn’t research this myself though…

This GPZ-series engine continued to evolve all the way to the ZRX Daig.
When manufacturers keep using and refining the same engine, both the maker and users get huge benefits.
Maybe this is where the goodness of a manufacturer loved by its users really shows.

The water pump is new, so I thought I’d reuse the O-ring, but…

The size was slightly different and it wouldn’t fit properly. When I checked the part number carefully, it seems they’re different.
But since the pump body is basically the same, I thought there’s no way that could be right, and I pondered for about 10 minutes

I speculated that they might have pushed it in a position slightly closer to the outer edge.
When reusing, make sure to order the O-ring for GPZ

I also finished the pump cover nicely.

And I assemble it smoothly.
There’s a water jacket drain bolt on the cylinder, so I’ll replace that too.
It’s not a place you’d normally touch, but checking it will definitely improve reliability

This titanium pipe turned out to be quite a handful and I struggled a bit.
I cleaned the hole on the cylinder side so it slides in smoothly, applied plenty of lubricant,
and it’s supposed to go in slick…

But it wouldn’t budge at all, or the O-ring would start poking out, and getting all four in straight at the same time is pretty tricky.
After huffing and puffing and trying several times, I finally managed to get them all in straight and smooth.

The radiator inlet is a bit deformed.
Since it’s just the tip, I’ll be careful not to do anything too rough.

I also rinsed out the radiator by running water through it continuously.

As time passes… I’ve temporarily fixed the radiator and muffler.

Preparing the next steps (*´ω`*)

I was planning to replace the wet blaster, so I had left the old model outside,
but once I started working, I realized I needed it again, so I set it up one more time.

And because I fixed it so carelessly, the hose kept coming loose,
and I put in too much media, which caused a lot of hassle.

That’s how I finished it nicely, and it continues.
