Time really flies…
Here’s an update combining recent work.
Untreated cylinder surfaces really do end up rough and pitted.
Stains are inevitable, so I’m working carefully without aggressive sanding to smooth it out.
Iron pistons are really troublemakers.
I’ve applied primer for now. I’ll keep looking for a better option.
Rust just looks so dirty, doesn’t it?
Enter the beloved chemical: CCI Metal Rubber.
It’s a chemical that makes me think my caliper overhauls are getting better.
The key is that you coat it on seals and pistons, assemble them, and it dissolves inside the caliper. ★
