Not to exaggerate or anything…
Anyone who’s ever removed an engine damper themselves knows it’s pretty tedious.
When you take it off, the front hanger gets in the way, and so does the oil cooler.
Then when you’re tightening it back up, you have to hold the inner nut with a wrench while you tighten the outer one, and it’s awkward…
Today I took one off—I’m not sure if this is the final oil-cooled version or which K model it is—and I was shocked!
There’s a threaded hole right down the center of the damper!
The back side has a cap head too, so it’s much easier to hold. We’re switching everything over to this design—no stock of the old ones anymore!
I wonder why they changed it at the very end? Do the water-cooled models have dampers too?
