How Fast Were You Going Anyway?

For the first time in 10 years, I got a proper traffic ticket. Details are below.
I headed out on the RVF to pick up a bomb kit from Kensou, and after retrieving it safely, I decided to take a slightly longer route back.
I was going to return via the Kan-8 expressway. The road was a bit congested, but with 400cc it’s no problem.
Vrooooom, I accelerate up to the red zone!
Oh man, it feels pretty good, so I’m weaving through traffic and flying down the road.
I need to turn right onto Meguro Street, so I cut in front.
The light changes, and right before the overpass, there’s a white police bike right on my tail.
I wonder where that came from? Confused, I slow down to 40 kph on the 50 kph road.
They’re tailgating me aggressively!
No way! After I come down from the overpass, the red lights come on. I’m wondering what’s going on.
Of course, being all about traffic safety, I do as instructed and pull over to the left, asking, “What’s the matter?”
And I get yelled at: “How fast were you going?!”
Huh? What are you talking about? I was confused.
“Sorry, I don’t really understand what you mean.”
“What do you mean? You passed me on the Kan-8 with incredible speed, and I just barely caught up to you!”
No way! I didn’t even notice!
Well, I’m already pulled over, so all I can do is apologize. I’m really sorry!
The officer is seriously angry, and his eyes are dead serious!
You (why am I being called “you” like that?!)! Should I write you up for all the violations this time?
I couldn’t clock your speed, but there’s illegal passing on the left, running a red light, and cutting in—three violations!
“That’s pretty minor, but I don’t want to get called in and written up anyway…” I apologize profusely.
License! Hand over your license!
“You (shut up already) have a gold license?! You’re not qualified! (I said shut up!)”
Well, I guess so?
“That’s right! You’ve just never been caught!”
He’s right. I couldn’t say otherwise, so I apologize again.
At this point, a Life Card commercial pops into my head with three choices: “Get written up,” “Don’t sign,” or “Grab the license and run.”
I pick option 3, stuff my wallet in my pocket, suddenly put on my gloves, and grin!
Final answer?
Nah, forget it. Too much risk over a blue ticket. I pick option 1!
“Alright, I’m writing you up for all of them! (He can’t actually write all of them, and I know it, Your Highness!)”
I stay quiet, and he says, “Well, you did stop pretty quick, so I’ll make it just one. Which one do you want?”
It doesn’t matter which one anyway! Any of them is fine. I did it, after all.
I get a lecture that makes no sense and apologize profusely. This is seriously the worst.
“What’s the displacement on this Honda? Um, 400cc!”
“400? What’s the name?”
“It’s written right there on the side!” I think to myself, but I say, “It’s an RVF 400.”
He writes that down for some reason and says, “Really, I’m counting on you! (Shut up already!)”
I took the long way back and lost 7,000 yen. What a fool I am!
Time to put the carburettor together.
By the way, the photo is from Hibun-ya Station, so just think of it as a stock image.
