It’s raining again—I’m getting sick of it. Since it’s cold, we’ll need to start carrying hot products again from now on.
Finally, the mag wheels are going in! First up is the rear—Marchesini ⑤R.
I like this design better than the current 10.
Next up is the front—someday soon…
Of course, the front and rear wheels will have different designs and different colors…
Am I the only one who thinks a motorcycle looks cooler with different wheels in different colors front and rear?
Marchesini wheels are lightweight, of course! The reason I stick with this maker is that they bend instead of breaking.
Even when I flipped the ⑤R doing a wheelie and bent it, it didn’t crack at all…
Plus, it was straightened out and came back to life! (Don’t try this—it’s a bit dangerous.)
Then I flipped it again and bent it once more, but this time it couldn’t be fixed.
Next is the damper shape and material.
With mag wheels, the damper capacity decreases. When you have torque like a big bike,
they wear out pretty quickly, but Marchesini is strong! They have excellent durability.
Which means they’re easy on the wallet. This fan shape is the best.
Then there’s the bearing structure of the rear sprocket hub. Double-row angular ball bearings provide high rigidity!
It’s a wheel that keeps evolving.
I heard a helpful story once—apparently, when wheels are used in endurance racing and All Japan racing, the bearings in the sprocket hub
break fairly often. The axle shaft holds it firmly, and during banking, the hub is also pulled by the chain,
so forces act in strange directions. I heard that they became convinced this bearing needed to be addressed…
