Oil change is complete, so let’s move on to the ETC area.
The multitap and spade connectors are a mess and poor for serviceability. We’ll cut them all out.
Time passes, and a few hours later. All the spade connectors have been discarded and everything is laid out clearly for anyone to understand.
I hope you’ll avoid relying too heavily on double-sided tape for mounting. Some of it is unavoidable, but it’s a pain to remove.
More space is better whenever possible. ETC installation can be a real headache.
We found a spot that just barely works, so we’ll bend some SUS 304 HL stainless steel and mount it there.
It fits in here just barely.
It opens enough that there’s no problem inserting or removing the card, so you can rest easy.
The antenna and lamp go here. We welded a nut to the back of the plate and secure it from the front with an M5 bolt.
The type of nut fastening that can come loose has poor serviceability, so avoiding it when you can makes things easier down the road.
It’s finished simply. There are too many temporary fasteners, so we’ll inspect each section carefully.
