I’m switching to ball bearings. Suzuki used the same bearings from the GS1000 through recent models. Revolutionary? Cost-focused? It’s actually a very good thing.
When reusing parts, you must always verify operation while assembling.
The GSF1200 and similar models also have plastic caps for the upper seal. It seems fine, but I’m not a big fan of it.
Since the seal moves together with it, this is an area where you want to verify lubrication and operation.
It looks modern now.
