STACK ST867 bracket remake.
We narrowed down the pattern to three options and went with the less common approach.
We considered methods like the stock style with a post inserted into rubber, or panel-style embedding, but the large backing plate would add too much weight, so those were ruled out. The slight misalignment of the metacone holes is just a quirk…
I’m not sure how this rice-ball shape changes with model number, but I have three types on hand: ST867, ST868, and ST8130.
I’ll use the white ST867.
I also made a bracket to attach to the base side, and by adding bends to the burl, it became quite robust.
This should be solid. The mounting points on the frame are of course floating.
Nuts can fall off and maintenance becomes very difficult, so spot-welding the nuts ensures smooth attachment and removal.
I made a careless mistake and melted it—sad times. I covered it up.
It’s much simpler than last time. I could have lightened it a bit more, but this time I played it safe.
There’s a slight concern, but… well, for now… oh well.
Just to be safe, a little review and practice.
