The customer reported clutch slippage, so we’re installing an FCC clutch kit.

Nice spacious work area. It doesn’t feel overly mechanical, and it’s reassuring to watch.

Let’s take a look at the primary reduction clutch housing. The clutch operation is smooth, and it’s in nice condition. Reassuring.

Original friction plates. The thickness hasn’t changed much, but the friction material looks aged.

The steel plates also show some wear.

FCC friction and steel plates. Interestingly, the GSX1100S version doesn’t have the usual treatment on the steel side. The thickness changes and the plate count differs. Standard 10-11 becomes FCC 9-9, and the total thickness increases by 1.11 mm according to our calipers.
With compatible friction and steel plates, the engagement will be good and power transfer will be solid.

This is definitely genuine Suzuki. It appears to be anodized for lubrication, so I’d expect good durability.

I see. That makes sense. Good learning experience.

Now we’ll change the oil to Newtech NC50.

While we were at it, we polished it. Looks like new, which is great.
After a test ride, we’ll be done.
