Let’s make the GSX-R1100K undercowl fastener-detachable.
As mentioned before, the GSX-R1100 cowl-side lower hole is P28, so we’ll convert the existing P25 into a slot.
Since we need to machine a total of 12 holes, we’ll create a simple fixture first, then punch them out.
Some fastener receiving shapes vary slightly, but it worked out well. We can handle this work even if you order it in the future.
Since we don’t machine the cowl side, it can always be returned to its original state, so you can feel confident.
The underside was already machined before, so this is good.
It’s subtle, but the convenience of attachment and detachment improves dramatically. The appearance is great too.
We’re considering whether we could use genuine HRC parts as a next option.
If only there were more fastener length options… that would be wonderful.
