GS1000S Electrical continued…

The engine started up for the first time in a while. However, there are some functional issues.

I didn’t want to install three STACK setting switches, so I used the switch from a Skywave 650 and left everything in the ON position—that part went as planned.

I also moved the starter to the left, so it looks clean… I initially thought we might not need a kill switch.
And actually, there’s no key either. I ended up installing an M-LOCK contactless key system, so every time I turn it off I have to pull the key out of my pocket and shine it to cut the engine—the hassle is making me regret it now… I’m reconsidering it.

Next…
I had already sourced a MOSFET regulator for this job, so let’s get to it…

Previously I had mounted the regulator at the bottom where there’s good airflow. I thought it would be a simple swap, but the wiring connector is so large that it ends up too close to the muffler collector—that’s not going to work…
Now I have to find a different mounting location.

Next… the ETC indicator lamp is oddly large, so I ended up wiring it and recessing it. (left end)
It lights up green when a card is inserted and stays dark without one. Lots of surprises at this stage.
