The memory of that recent license upgrade was… pretty vague.
It was Heisei 7 (1995). I wrote summer but it says February, which is winter.
I was manufactured in 1975, so I was barely 19 at the time… or rather, the license is huge!
Continuing from last time…
I was repairing that accident-damaged XJR1200 and riding my first liter bike~♪
Back then, “Taste of Tsukuba” had everyone hyped about Hiroshi Maruyama (CB1000SF) vs. Takashi Toda (XJR1200). I think I bought the video at Lindberg—I wish I hadn’t thrown it away (；∀；)
That accident-damaged XJR1200 must have been a help to everyone back then, right? “Mihara Speciality” full power kit installed, full power~
Still wanting more power! More power! It wasn’t enough, so I installed an FCR39φ carburetor and…
I still remember the amazement that a bike could get so incredibly fast!
*These days I’m saying negative pressure is the best… because I’m getting old now…
That accident-damaged XJR1200 had a starter clutch that would slip when winter came. But I, young as I was, would still bump-start it every day (seriously).
Looking back now, that was tough~. Being young is amazing, right?
Or rather, I should have fixed it! But I think you had to split the crankcase, which meant dropping the engine, so I just kept limping along on it.
Time passed…
I had an accident.
I got hit at the intersection of Route 246 and Ring Road 7, and the forks bent badly. Finally I thought, “I guess this bike is done…” and decided to start looking for a replacement. *Total loss, and I got a nice warm payout~
Oh right
As for my body, I flew over a car and landed that time too, but fortunately I’ve never broken a bone in my life—I have this mysterious?
ability to take a fall, so I got away with minor injuries that time too.

It already has Brembo on it (with stock hose) and a Bitubo California too, but… the reason I bought it was
The boss said
“Hey! I’ve got a GS1000S. Should I have it shipped from America? Do you want to buy it?”
“Y-yes, I’ll buy it.”
Just like that… so casually… I had the accident money anyway~

A few months later it came in a container to Japan~ cleared customs~ passed the new registration inspection~
Finally ready to ride, so exciting♪
