When it comes to brake hoses, considering appearance and contact, I think even +20–30 mm is about the limit.
Hoses and wires that sag all loose and droopy are a bit sad, you know.
When using TEE-FIT, we first fabricate a SUS bracket and then work out the layout.
If you fix the TEE-FIT with cable ties, the surrounding area becomes all scratched up, so it’s a bit, (,,`･ω･´)ﾝﾝﾝ? you know.
At Decoboco, we basically don’t install off-the-shelf finished brake hoses.
Honestly, you often have to force them on quite a bit… and there are bikes out there with DIY installations that I absolutely wouldn’t want to test ride.
Enjoying the work yourself is also a very good thing, but before something serious happens, let’s check first.
It’s not just about “attaching parts”—pay attention to “installing them so they work safely and reliably for the long term, with good serviceability,” and you’ll get a deeper understanding.
That’s how it’s finished. We use braided sleeve for the outer covering, so it’s extremely resistant to chafing. (Though there’s barely any contact anyway.)
When you look at a somewhat customized bike, checking the brake hoses and throttle cables might tell you something about the owner’s passion for that machine.
