Well, okay then. Continuing on.

Removing the lever and lubricating it helps suppress play from developing. It keeps things in good condition for longer. It’s all about taking care of the small stuff consistently.

I lubricated the sidestand and gave it a light coat too. Looks great.

The pedal has sealed bearings, so I just checked it.

The throttle holder has terrible serviceability. Because of this thin gap of just a few millimeters, maintenance is significantly harder. A split design top and bottom would be the better choice. Also, the throttle doesn’t have a stopper, so I installed one. Now it has a stopper that hits with a solid “click!” when fully closed. Without it, the cable tension creates a vague, mushy feel at full closure. The former option with the stopper is better because throttle adjustment is easier too.

P1590995
The throttle itself was in good condition.

You can see it’s already developed a habit from use. It’s a holder that’s hard to see and difficult to manage.

Let’s do a fluid change. You should do it at least once a year.

The gap was at standard, so I opened it up a bit to Watanabe’s setting. It makes a real difference.

Normally you can only see forced opening with this sketchy vacuum gauge, but the TMR has a negative pressure port, so let’s check it digitally.

Synchronization always drifts, so I’m not going to fine-tune it too much. This is good enough.

I wonder if a funnel was stuck in here at some point? I have to say, I wasn’t thrilled about chucking this in the lathe.

P1610030
Let me check what’s causing that rattling sound. Looks like an offset issue.

P1610029 P1610028
It’s a pretty crude way to check, but here goes…

No cover, no dowel pins on the cover either, and something’s making contact… I’m waiting on parts for this area.
