Now the exhaust pipe can be secured normally again, so we’re relieved. Let’s move on to maintenance.

It won’t turn by hand at all. I think every time how it’s holding up so well. Bearings are amazing.
The operation is fine with adjustment, so we’ll continue using it.

It’s had quite a history, so the wheel has runout on both sides of the rim. The left disc also has a slight runout.

The axle shaft was fine.

The caliper condition isn’t bad. Let’s clean it up nicely and reassemble.

Wiping the disc occasionally is effective. It won’t grip well on the first application, so be careful.

Lift the dust seal occasionally and lubricate it. Fork oil works fine for that.

The chain is clean, but there’s some rattling noise from the front…

The wheel bearings are a bit worn, but we’ll reuse them.

Let’s remove the dust seal from the rear caliper and clean it.

Ideally, I’d like to chamfer all the edges. We’ll do it.

Bolt and nut configuration. Threadlocker is good, but physical locking with lock nuts is more reassuring, so we’ve replaced them.

For areas where loosening is a concern, physical locking with lock nuts is the safest approach.
