Though a bit delayed, I’d like to start the work today.
The bearing condition isn’t too bad.
It’s just the minimum amount needed. More isn’t necessarily better.
Since we can’t disassemble it frequently or apply oil from the outside, I’d say the idea is to seal it in.
There might be a trick in the manufacturer’s minimal amount—perhaps they use a slightly higher-grade lubricant that won’t drip, keeping it lean to avoid friction.
That’s what I’m thinking anyway.
The races look clean, and the steering felt just right during assembly—so I have high hopes here.
I’d like to do a visual inspection.
I’m filling it with Neutech NC100, which is soft, operates smoothly, and resists heat well, so it stays in good condition for a long time.
I’ve applied rust protection as well.
The steering is complete.
