I’m fabricating aluminum side covers. Since this is my first attempt, I’m looking forward to future improvements.
The design lacks any ingenuity—I just set the edges with a bead roller and then bent it. I’m grateful for aluminum that allows me to raise beads and bend specific sections.
Basically, I don’t want to machine the main body at all, so I’ll do my best to work around it.
There’s practically nowhere I can remove material from, and it would be so much easier if I could machine the body side…
The bolt attachment points need a stopper. Unfortunately, 360-degree flexible mounting isn’t ideal.
I’m positioning it by attaching a round rod with a “peak” so it clicks snugly into the rubber.
