The original vacuum carburetor is wonderfully easy to handle, has a manageable maintenance cycle, and lets you ride year-round whether you’re up north in Hokkaido or down south in Kyushu.
The reducer pipe sticks up and wiggles around.
It rises from the breather
bends at the frame
and returns to the air cleaner. The pipe is secured with double-sided tape and cable ties.
The Watanabe ignition can only be mounted in this area when you factor in the wiring length.
We tuned the ignition timing
replaced the spring, and we’re all done!
