It has that complex vibe—like an off-the-shelf product but not quite. The construction is very simple and really cool steps.
I searched a bit and saw something similar in images, but I couldn’t figure out who makes it. *Looking for information (*´ω｀*)
I’m concerned about it touching the side cover, so I’ll adjust it a bit.
I’ll clean the caliper since I’m replacing the pads.
It’s a hassle having to remove the rear wheel to take off the caliper. The inside of the dust seal was surprisingly clean.
The piston movement is a bit triangular. Looks like it’ll need an overhaul or replacement eventually.
Replacing the pad pins and springs at the same time makes things look sharp. It feels bad when they’re a bit rusty. They don’t cost much, so I think it’s good to replace them without hesitation.
I’m switching the rear brake to Brembo sintered metal. The rear disc is surprisingly wavy, so I’ll check with you about what to do.
While I have the rear wheel off, let me check a few things.
I replaced the mounting nuts with steel lock nuts. This way, there’s less chance of them loosening and falling off, so you can feel secure.
The hub damper was pretty loose, so I made POM shims and inserted them. I put in 6 pieces this time. I sandwiched the shims between the dampers so they won’t fall out.
I wish the wheel bearings used double-sided seals. It would definitely be better for serviceability and cleanliness.
The axle shaft runout was fine. I’d like to replace the rear axle nut with a flanged lock nut. M18-P1.5—if I find one, I’ll swap it out. It’s a pain to remove and install the pin every time.
