When we started the engine after a long time, it went “sputter sputter sputter~…”
according to the owner.
Let’s check the easy stuff first.
All four spark plugs are completely black.
Maybe having them all black is actually a good thing?
Well, let’s replace the spark plugs and check for spark.
This BIMOTA SB3 has a GSX1100SR harness plus AS Watanabe ignition installed, and supposedly no other electrical systems.
Strong spark on all four cylinders—OK.
We already have the tank on.
The CR-SPL starter lever was stiff, so we lubricated the sliding parts to smooth it out.
Tightening the air screw a bit seems to be working well.
We thought we’d take it for a test ride and call it done, but then it rained….
If nothing else comes up, we’re finished. Light work, thankfully…. supposedly (for now).
