I’ll continue with the work.
Maybe the rain is putting up a fight too. There’s still some oil residue, but the timing was perfect.
I’ll clean and lubricate the left and right levers too. Removing them and applying grease seems to give better lubrication longevity.
The side stand gets the same treatment.
I’ll lubricate and clean the throttle cable and throttle sleeve.
The throttle sleeve on the handlebar side just needs a light moisturizing touch.
Occasionally you’ll find one that’s been heavily greased, but that makes the return action really sluggish, so watch out for that.
I replaced both the air filter and spark plug.
I also adjusted the carburetor synchronization a bit.
I replaced the brake fluid with CCI Golden Cruiser DOT4
You might want to replace the cap bolts every time.
I’ll lubricate and clean the main key (don’t just put it back in as-is). The fuel cap will also move a bit better with some rust prevention and lubrication.
I’ll check the fuses too for peace of mind. The charging voltage is fine.
After that, a test ride and we’re done.
