First up, I did a front fork oil change and spring rate measurement.
It was running 9.0 N/mm, but that’s not the original, is it? I wonder.
The preload was quite stiff too, so I shortened the spacer to increase the adjustment range.
I pulled a vacuum and adjusted the oil level, and we’re done.
The wheel and tire runout looked good, no issues there. Its birthday was week 34 of 2017.
That thick axle is pretty sturdy, isn’t it? No runout, everything looks good.
I cleaned up the brake discs too. It’s nice not having holes—makes it easier!
The wheel bearings checked out fine.
The caliper was pretty dusty. Since there’s a rattling noise complaint, I’ll install pad springs for you.
The caliper bolts were dirty, so I replaced them with Yamaha ones (^_-)-☆
