When choosing parts,
don’t you want to get great performance while also sporting beautiful design?
Do you choose a part because you want it, because you want to install it?
Or do you choose it because it’s cheap?
There are a lot of wishy-washy opinions out there to begin with.
Actually, what I’m most particular about on my own bike ends up being… the final cost?
It’s tricky because it’s a number you can see, right?
Take this muffler, for example. It’s from some famous master craftsman, but…
it’s actually for oil-cooled bikes.
This muffler is something a customer wasn’t using, so I picked it up from them.
In the extreme case, as long as the cylinder pitch and oil pan don’t interfere and the layout works, you can bolt on anything up to the exhaust manifold collector.
*Of course, there are flange pitch and exhaust gasket diameter considerations, so it’s not simple.
Price-wise it’s affordable, and with cross-model adaptation, the one-of-a-kind factor is incredible.
It’s got a kind of one-off, semi-one-off element, and the price gets squeezed way down.
But that’s only because you’re in the business, right?
Of course, whether you can do it yourself or not varies, but in this internet-saturated world, if you research properly you should be able to find that kind of information and those kinds of shops (*’ω’*).
By doing your research and then asking someone who really knows the information you’re after, you can have a deeper conversation, don’t you think?
When there’s a process and results follow, I think that’s when you get the real synergy and satisfaction.
