This dramatically improves efficiency (*’▽’)
The existing screw-in type is really tedious.
Repeated use seems to damage the threads.
Since it’s straight, using it on a bike requires a 90-degree angle air valve or it’s hard to insert.
So I searched for something more solid (*´ω｀*)
The air valve thread specification I use is 8V1 (*´ω｀*)
At first I thought something like this fluid system attachment could work somehow…
Thread outer diameter about 7.9φ? Thread pitch about 0.8MM? But the pitch gauge seems suspicious?
It’s not metric either… I didn’t know there was an air valve specification until I searched.
Once you know the specification, searching is quick.
Surprisingly, we don’t know the official names of things…

The above two items are very convenient with Rakuten’s Neko Posu support.
I use Asahi small parts that have tremendous trust in air gauges.
It’s somewhat pricey, but it’s definitely a high-quality item you can trust.
This is the tip for Asahi air gauges. Since I use it at work, it’s also good as a backup stock in case of emergency.
What’s great about it…
The contact surface is spherical, so no seal tape is needed on the fixed side.
Just screw it in as is and there’s no air leakage at all…
That’s what you’d expect from an air gauge manufacturer (*´ω｀*)
When installed, it looks like this.
The thread part is a bit visible which looks uncool… but maybe I could cut it or add some color for a stylish look.
So has the usability actually improved?
I can pump air in the usual familiar way.
There’s just one thing I’d like to improve…
Ideally, like a regular air gauge (air pump), a hose that moves freely would be perfect.
I can do it, but it just keeps getting longer, so that’s the issue…
If this air pump could detach the hose at the base…
It would be nice if there were push-in attachment options too.
Makita, if you did that, the expandability would be even higher.
