This is about how the genuine Makita magnetic attachment A-61684 is incredibly powerful~
*Note that it can’t be used as-is, so please be careful.

The drill side isM8-P1.25 (mm)
and the magnetic attachment A-61684 is1/4 (inch)
so a conversion is necessary.Concave 1/4 → Convex M8
I didn’t want to make one and have it be a joke, so I searched for one. I also considered the price.

The material is aluminum. Probably anodized around 2017.
If I insert it as-is, it floats like this, so I’ll countersink it to make it flush.
Since it was tedious, I used a 7MM end mill on the lathe to countersink it.
If you don’t drill too deep, you can also use a regular drill.
Hmm~ it suddenly looks so genuine… It’s too cool.
Flush fit is the best in life~♪ Now it’s less likely to break or loosen.
You just screw it into the drill handle thread (M8-P1.25) and twist it on… That’s right.
It’s very easy.
Now I can attach it to iron like this.
A few things to note.
Be careful because thin steel plates will reduce the holding power.
Also, the angled grinder as shown in the image is somewhat problematic.
It’s held by weight, but
force is applied in the direction of pulling the magnet off, so it’s a bit easy to come loose.
*It can’t be held with the battery attached.
The angle driver holds firm even with the battery attached.
Making an attachment to make it straight might be even better.
So it seems like there’s a good chance I can now hang Makita tools that were taking up storage space.

In the end, poor fit = more worries, so I made an easy mount.
The bending angle is too delicate… I tilted it a bit, but please forgive me.
Now it’s fixed perfectly.
