Wow~ the GSF1200 really is cool, isn’t it? (´ー`)
The coolest thing about the GSF1200 is the “frame”
– that sensual double cradle that curves outward like the GS1000R, drawing a graceful R.
Before and after, there’s no other model where the frame “bulges out” quite like this.
From the “Bandit 1200” and “GS1200SS” onward,
it became excessively linear.
Anyway, that doesn’t really matter… let’s get to work (*´ω`*)

I bought a silencer and installed it myself, but… “the band position is abnormal” request
During the work consultation, “it would be faster to make a bracket” is what I said, but…
it’s surprisingly tedious to make.
It’ll cost tens of thousands of yen. And it takes a lot of time too.
In the worst case, it could take a whole day…
If we can somehow avoid making it, everyone’s happy, so I’ll just observe for now.

Can I just re-bend the band at an angle and secure it with a collar?
*By the way, there are ribs on the bend, so it’s not easy.
It worked! (*´ω`*) Yay, I’m so happy!
This is borrowed from the leftover collar for position confirmation, so I’ll make a new one.

Perfect fit! And it’s easy to return to the original.

Let’s check for contact with the swingarm.

Even at the closest point, 10mm clearance is reassuring (*´ω`*)
You can check with a ruler too, so be sure to verify.
*Surprisingly, many units out there have contact issues.

The not-so-mainstream “Gale Speed”
A product with somewhat weak brand establishment.
For better or worse, “Brembo dominance” is the world we live in.
Only contrarians use it? It’s such a great product though…
Wire Clutch Holder Kit Black
【Mirror Holder Clamp / Ratio 28-30mm】
WCH30BK-M
The merit of this holder is “wire adjustment and lever adjustment are separate”
Standard wire clutches are “wire only”
*Recently there are some alternative models, but with “5-stage adjustments” etc., the range is too wide
Wire side “quite tight” with “lever close” or
wire side “quite loose” with “lever far” etc.
The clutch engagement point and comfortable grip position (light feel) are easy to adjust.

The drum section where the wire enters is split, allowing ratio changes.
*Tools are required though…

*I’m engraving numbers on my own. I’ll definitely forget which is which later, so I’m doing it now.
The smaller the value, the “lighter” the operation becomes, but the clutch “becomes harder to disengage” .
The merit of this holder is that you can combine this ratio with lever adjustment.
If you maximize the benefits of adjustability, operation should become easier ♪

Changed from 35MM to 28MM abnormally.
Well, I already know my Inazuma 1200 can cut cleanly, so I have no worries whatsoever.
The Zeta clutch holder is pretty outdated now…

Latest oil-cooled wire clutch wire
Occasionally, some enthusiasts inquire about “wire clutch” conversion.
However, “do your best yourself” is all I can say
It’s not that difficult, but
“people who can’t visualize the configuration in their head” probably shouldn’t attempt it.
Now, the latest? 58200-08F01 Everyone’s favorite? GSX750F.
This one is really good.
The holder side has a vent fitting.
The GSF750 and straight models are the worst. They’re unsuitable for naked bikes.
Back in the day, I used to work hard modifying wires from Varadero 250s and such ( ;∀;)

And that’s how the installation is complete.
The clutch lightness is genuinely good.
Not dramatic, but smoother and lighter than stock
The clutch engagement feel is natural, as you’d expect from a wire system.
That feeling where the lever releases and the clutch engages proportionally.
Hydraulic systems inevitably have an ON/OFF feel.
Considering layout and routing, hydraulic is supreme.
Wire systems can’t achieve certain layouts that hydraulic can.
But in terms of operation feel, wire is definitely better, though it’s a matter of preference.
