Zephyr 550/400 Early Model Dual Gauges

Back in the day, the “dual gauges” were considered uncool
, but after all these years, they somehow look

“racing” to me now. When I started looking for them, they were surprisingly hard to find…
I searched everywhere, including overseas, but they’re incredibly rare.

Of course, they’re long discontinued from the factory.

I managed to get my hands on a set, so I wanted to swap them in before the inspection, but…
(´;ω;`)

The difference between dual gauges and the bullet-style is the presence of a fuel gauge.
It’s a bit of a pain,

but as they say, “beauty requires sacrifice.” Even Peeko would agree… right?

So few wires!

The carb era really was nice…
It’s built with just the essentials and is so human-friendly (*´ω`*)

Note that the trip reset on the dual gauges is a screw-in type.
*Of course, I didn’t know that either.

Since I’m not selling it, I’m in the camp that resets the mileage to zero (*´ω`*)
I’ve covered how to do it before, so please don’t misuse it.

The meter bracket is subtly hitting something and won’t fit (´;ω;`)
So much hassle for this…

This rib area is hitting, so I basically just cut it away!
But something else is still hitting…

What? What?

The key cylinder boss is slightly hitting.
I might need to remove the top bridge if I get time…

For now, I’m putting this on hold (´;ω;`)
