Incredibly Linear Design?! Z1R Inspection CP2195 Valve Adjustment Generator Wiring Countermeasures and More

Z1R, a bike I always wanted to own at least once.

Well, I’ve only ever had connections with rare cars?
My sensibilities are off to begin with…
Pretty niche, really.

It’s already January 12th, 2024.
Let’s keep working steadily!

Switched to APRACING CP2195

We can give it just a slight edge over the CP2696
The CP2195 is really nice.

Light, compact, everything is compatible with the 2696
Very good indeed.

AP has poor operation, needs disassembly

The piston operation is surprisingly stiff!
Even when disassembled and pressurized with air, it’s hard to get it to move

When you disassemble it fresh and reassemble it
“Wait, is this Brembo?”
That’s an exaggeration, but it improves quite a bit.

Found doodles on 1 out of 3

Pure handwriting!
It’s surprisingly difficult to write or engrave if you’re not used to it

Soak in fluid and metal rubber is supreme

Struggling with the stiffness of APRACING caliper seals
“Billions of years?”

Finally figured out the secret method.
*Don’t over-rely on this.

Soak the removed new sealin fluid.
About 30 minutes is enough.
In a nicely moistened stateinstall it on the caliper.

Spray CCI metal rubber on the seal
Spray it on the piston too
Stretch the metal rubber and fit it…
“Pop!”

Compared to just fluid or just metal rubber
The combination seems to go in more smoothly.

Since I don’t disassemble AP that frequently
take this as a reference only

I’m switching the bleeder nipple
to titanium

Iron bleeders tend to rust easily
and seize up.
Fluid attracts moisture, after all.

There’s a lot of debate about dissimilar metals
“Permanent or temporary”but
I think it makes a difference too. Probably.

So I’m going with titanium.

I also cleaned up the caliper support nicely.
By the way
washing with engine conditioner is quick

So stiff… CP2195

Probably only enthusiasts will notice
and that’s what makes it good~
It’s round and squishy, really nice

I’ll machine the rear center and remake the hose!

These AP RACING types have terrible bleeder positioning
so positioning it to allow air to escape as much as possible
makes the work faster.

If you position it so air can escape upward and vacuum bleed
it’s efficient and quick.

Actually, CP2195 doesn’t come as a left single unit

When you buy the front and rear set, you get 2 right units and 1 left unit
If the caliper is on the bottom, I wish I had one more left

It becomes a right unit so the hose exit position is bad
Got approval for center machining
so we’ll proceed with a clean layout.
To be continued

This is what I introduced this time!
